MT. PLEASANT, Pa., May 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Foreclosures decreased all over the Detroit area, with Macomb County, down 37 percent in one month, leading the way, according to Default Research, the rapidly growing real estate research company for foreclosure properties. While Macomb County had the lowest foreclosure rate last month, Wayne County was a close second, down almost 35 percent, and Oakland County was 7 percent lower.

"It seems as if foreclosure activity is temporarily stabilizing in the Motor City," said Serdar Bankaci, president and chief executive officer of Default Research, Inc. "Detroit kicked off the year with record high foreclosure rates -- now that figure has quickly gone down. Unfortunately for the area, this decrease in foreclosure rates is going to end very soon. In fact, the continuing auto industry lay-offs which are the heart of the Detroit metro workforce, as well as the escalating fuel costs, are going to seriously impact all Detroit residents."

The savvy investor knows, however, that even if foreclosures are down, Default Research's leads, which arrive two to three weeks ahead of the competition, can still be the ticket to personal profit.
